Territorial Efficiency Medal. Named to a member of the ATS

Hiya, here is a medal from my ATS collection. Issued to an early member of the ATS.

“W.1320. CLP E.M. Burberry. A.T.S."

I have her early 1939 ATS membership badge and a lot of paperwork to her too.

I have not scanned her paperwork as I have it framed, but it consists of:

AB 64 Pay book. Enlisted on 15th November 1938.

ATS & VAD Release book, class “A”. Dated 17th October 1945.

War Department Driving Permit. Issued Aug. 25th 1945 and valid until 24th Aug. 1946.

Travel Warrant. Issued 23rd April 1945 to 3rd May 1945.

Travel Warrant. Issued 23/7/45 until 1/8/45.

Cinema Projectionists’ Course Exam results. Dated 3/11/41 to 13/11/41.

Great Territorial Medal and ATS badge, Lez. Unusual that it is not
hallmarked - are these silver badges rather rare.........?

Hiya Steve, I think they are so small they never bothered with the hallmark, they are only about 20mm in size.

I have another 5 of these badges

The numbers on the back are for accountability only and do not equate to service numbers. Two have safety chains fitted to them. They were also issued with an ultra rare blue ATS armband along with the badge. I have own of these but I have never shown it online as it would be a gift to the fakers.

The badges can still be found but are getting higher in price. Many get mistakenly sold as "Sweetheart" badges

Just found a pic of the other membership badges together. Ade had hid it in his files

The one on the tie bar is interesting as it has been converted.

The three badges shown together are sweethearts: made from the same dies, but note the pin goes the other way. Two gilt finish, one silver finish, but not made of silver.
