I am not 100% sure about this info but I was told that the cid badges from ww2 had the sterling mark on the right side of the badge and the writing was larger ,this would be more like a korean area badge.

I'm not sure also, but I have seen this type for sale as WW2 type on the net, you are most likely right, I'll see if there are other replies.
One clue maybe in the patent no.s on the clutch back.

Here two that were found in a garden in Sainte-mere-eglise.
