Are they real? What exactly are they?. They were found with a very old sterling wishbone pin

These are real, the catch is very odd possibly sweetheart. They are not ww1 though probably 1930s

A "sweetheart" broach was an item either purchased by or for a serviceman's wife or girlfriend. These were worn to show that they had a man in the services.

They are collectable. Sorry I cannot help on value.

can anyone tell me more about this pin???? the bottom of the anchor where the rope goes around only goes on one side...every other example ive seen shows it going around both sides.

The rope twisting around the anchor in this manner is standard.

I too believe these could be Sweetheart wings. They should measure 2.75"
to be full size. The pin is unusual, and the metal it is made from is not
hallmarked and looks plated. They may be an unofficial or private
purchase type - pre WWII.

If the original pin and catch were removed, you'd see the marks of where
they had been. More like an unfinished wing possibly, that has had
an unconventional pin attached - Not everyone was Rockefeller
and could afford to buy the very best..........!
