Again I was looking for items I have never posted and found this. A pretty nice looking ww2 Sterling silver Cib award.

One of the few American items in my collection. Not that I don’t collect the area for some reason, just that this is one of the few American items that come up for sale locally. Explaining why I bought it for £14 at an antiques fair!

I can’t add much to this thread. I will say this is a very pleasant to look at award. Very well designed and made. Unfortunately it is missing one clutch.

    Thanks for having a look!

It was annoying as the dealer i got this one from had a Vietnam issue one as well which I was gonna pick up the next time he had a stall but I haven’t seen him since...

You did well John! Look hard enough and you might find a proper replacement clutch.

Occasionally you will find a silver clutch on other period badges, over the years, they sometimes get mixed up and switched around.

    Good Luck,

Believe it or not this is exactly why it is always worth a quick poke about in the "everything 50p" box at the end of the dealers table which contains mostly crap you wouldn't thank him for except for that missing clutch

I know an old special forces Vietnam vet who once told me that the only
medal that meant anything to him was the CIB. He said that it prooved that you
were there and actually did something.
