got this today a slotted broach version of the WW2 victory medal boxed with ribbon pin

That's a beauty. Love the ribbon on this medal. I have my grandfather's WWII victory medal. It's a little more worn than this one but in great shape.

later versions are easy to find but early slotted broach ones aren't so easy but luckily ive got 2 now

I just recently started collecting medals and am not up on the lingo. What exactly does the term "slotted broach" mean?

I have a couple WW2 Victory medals, one with the original box, and woulld like to know so I can have a better understanding of what I have...
