45 tracer ammo 1945 dated

Here is a picture of some 45 tracer ammo dated 1945 . It is wraped in a moisture protective wraper .

I didn't realise they did tracer in .45cal. Apart from use in a Thompson, I can't really see the need.

How wrong I was !

These cool ammo, is hard to find i guess. As with all steel-cased ammo, the primers are corrosive . Anyway one thing that doesn't show in photos is the x mark on top of red tip of the projectile, an aid to "feel" what you're loading in your magazine in dim-light conditions.
