    Thanks for showing us.
    I had never seen 9mm blanks before.
    I would guess they got a fair bit of powder to cycle the action of a semiauto pistol or smg.

    I'm sure they look familiar to any U.K. WW2 re-enactors out there, as most of the U.K. blank firing guns use these, or at least the modern equivalent to the ones in the picture above, as to cycling in a semi or fully auto weapon, a gas restricter is required to build up enough gas pressure in the barrel to cycle the bolt or action. In some cases this is an adapter is added to the front of the barrel, however with the Sten gun, I've no idea if they had a dummy barrel or some form of adapter.

    9mm blanks now cost £25 a hundred over here. Our group always uses commercially made ones by "Privi Partizan".
