BFA "Blank Firing Attachment" thats what they called in the Brtish Army.. different weapons have different BFAs, take the British GPMG you have a blank firing barrel, same as the live firing barrel except for the "cork" at the end... Take L85A2 or SA80 as its called you have a BFA which you screw onto the end of your barrel.. since 1987 when i joined the Army they have changed alittle, now ive heard the BFA is a lot bigger & days the SA80 BFA can take up to 3 live rounds before exploded or falling off, hopefully by which time you would spotted the mistake & stopped firing!!!. Soldiers in the past have loaded live rounds instead of blank causing accidents... also the SA80 now comes with live magzines & blank magazines to stop that accident happening.. AHEM..Terry
