    Hello,

I received this belt of ammo in the early 1970s as a Christmas present from my dad. I'm hoping someone can help me with its identification and age. It's a 100 round belt and I believe it to be .50 caliber (?) training rounds. I'm not sure if it was for airforce training or ground forces, and whether it dates to WWII or the post war period. The bottoms of bullets are marked with numbers as are the metal links. Thanks for any information and comments.

I believe the 'FA' headstamp is for Frankford Arsenal, Pennsylvania. I have an old .30-06 shell casing with the same stamp. No idea what the 4 could mean.
I'm by no means a munitions expert, so could be wrong.

Yes, the FA is Frankford Arsenal, the 4 means they were made in 1944. I'm not up on the markings on the links themselves though, sorry.

Could it be 30-06 in a .303 link belt, I have a similar link belt from a Browning wing mounted .303.

Those are training rounds. There is no primer, nor is there a primer pocket..
