Just thought I'd check this thread again- thanks for the offer JLaw, though I recently just made a purchase and now I'm poor again for a while! I've bid on a Norwegian copy of a MK2 frag, and will post photos if I win it. I've made a thread if anyone cares to help with any info on it.
    Hi,

When I did the post I didn't realize your original post was back in April and I felt a bit foolish, but it was nice of you to respond now.

I haven't had much luck with my GunBroker.com Auction for the Mk.II that is presently up for bids. It has one bid on it, $125.00, but the Reserve price is $225.00. The first one sold and I was happy about that.

I'm not sure whether you've had a chance to see the Mk.II that's there now. There's a new Auction number in case you want to have a look. Go to this address: WWII U.S. MkII Hand Grenade Inert : World War I / II at GunBroker.com

Thanks very much for the reply,

Unfortunately it's out of my price range, though I realise these things do cost around that. However, I can suggest listing it at www.specialistauctions.com- this site has been europe's alternative to ebay ever since they banned the sale of inert ordnance and weapons. You might get more attention there? It's free to create an account, I've both bought and sold on there. Good luck!

This would be the case for alot of modern grenades where the castings would be made for steel rather than cast iron and many are formed from sheet or serated inner coiled wire so both the cast steel and sheet/plate/wire fragments would be far more likely to stretch and tear at whatever point was given more loading rather than break at the given points the designer has hoped they would..
