    the small grey triangular metal fragment could be part of and exploded pinapple grenade ??
    and as for the rest i dont really know ??

    all found on a ww2 winter tended camp for a US tank regiment in south wales
    can you help identify these bits and bobs detector finds

    Are they bits from a german stick grenade? Leon.

    dont think so click on the pic to enlarge, they came from a American 1942 winter tented camp in south wales

    I have attached a copy of your original photo with parts labled A-E

    A... Fragment of the body of a no247 fuze used with no69, no70, no73, no77 and no82 grenades (see attached image of No69 grenade showing location of part)

    B... Corroded Striker and detonator pellet from No247 fuze, The top metal part should be concave (see attached image of No69 grenade showing location of part)

    C... Is the lower portion of the centre tube from a mills grenade ,the threads and main tube destroyed upon detonation of the grenade (see attached image of No36 grenade showing location of part)

    D... Is the upper portion of the centre tube from a mills grenade, The grooves are marks caused by the spring upon detonation of the grenade (see attached image of No36 grenade showing location of part)

    E... Flare pistol cartridge upper cardboard portion has rotted away

    apologies for having only cutaway stuff to show the parts

    well well cant thank you enough thanks for your hard work posting the images, this proves that grenades were used on this site, a most important fact from our point of view, more detecting required i think
