    Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum as I have been reading with interest and felt I would like to join.
I hope this is in the correct place, please move if not.

I collect various relics from both WWI & II from all nations. I have a modest collection of shell casings and 3 shells but my latest acquisition has me baffled mainly due to its size.

Its a 150mm german shell casing as pictured bellow

From google I think it may be from a 15cm sk /l43 krupp (or similar) but if anyone has any more info/ideas I would be very grateful.

    Many thanks

I'm sure this is obvious but I can read Mai 19XX. Probably 1918 or close

The mark "Sp255" was only used by Patronenfabrik Karlsruhe (which is also visible around the primer)

Yours is taller l but here are some nice photos of a 15cm Feldkanone shell from Tony at Kaisers Bunker. Base is exactly the same but height is different...

"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

    Many thanks for the replies,

This is bang on, it is a german 150mm unfortunately the date is obscured but from google these should be 1918.

I have the short version as well, here it is next to it

Its just the thing that fired it that eludes me, the closest stats to mine is this 15cm SK L/43 Cartridge Casing but there are a few things that could have fired it.

    Many thanks
