Hi Gina, welcome to the forum! Nice to have another female member here

I don't have a clue what it is. But a rough idea of it's size might be helpful.

    Cheers, Ade.

    Always first in there Ade
and welcome to the forum Gina, I have no idea what this possibly might be, but a little bit of info about where you found it and what size it is would be a great help to identifying it.

    Thanks

    hi
Ade. thanks for a prompt reply!
it seems to be made of cast iron, it was quite muddy n rusty, im still working on cleaning it!...seems to have these prominant arch shapes on 4 sides, one has a hole (as seen in picture),....
measurments are approx: 2 inches high, and 4 inches wide, it has a solid cast base!
    thanks

Well now that its from an area with previous military activity it can be assumed that it this is a posibility, but talk of vehicles this was actually done after the war in other places, so you might be onto something here

    Thanks

Looks somewhat like an end cap. The piece on the side looks like it would be slid into a receiver and secured with a bolt into the detent.
This is really a first for me, Ade usually know's the answer in the first milisecond.
