    Excellent collection of egg's. That glass one is a beauty and in great condition.
    I take it the red one was a practice grenade?

    Sure was. The re-usable Übungs-Eihandgranate [practice egg hand grenade] had the same fuze as the regular model, but only carried the Übungsladung 30 [practice charge 30] (also used in practice stick grenades), which developed smoke when ignited.
