german S.F.H.18 heavy artillery ammo 1936
I found this artillery shell yesterday (100-120 year old house's attic) alongside some other german items. Relics from the german 1. panzer division which fought there in late 1944.
Interestingly this is an early copper shell.
Markings are:
24, 131, 1936, WaA270 with eagle, 6350, S.F.H.18
So it was produced in 1936 (Berlin-Borsigwalde)

Case for the Schwere Feld Haubitze 18 , 150mm Field gun as you say a nice early case.

Nice- it wouldn't really be solid copper though, would it? I'd have thought that too soft. Could it be Kupferstahl or just a low zinc brass (so it still looks very 'red')?
Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
