Help needed to identify flak fragments?

Article about: Those three horizontal lines are definitely not something you see every day; they're far, far too shallow and narrow to have anything to do with the driving bands. I have an 8,8cm Sprgr. 4,5

Default Help needed to identify flak fragments?

I have these two possible Flak fragments. I believe them to be WW2 and German in origin. Would it be possible for any Forum members to either confirm this attribution or help identify what exactly the type of shell/gun they originated from?

Any help or advice will be most welcome and greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards, Malcolm.

i do not know how in earth you or someone else could figure out where these two fragments come from.

They are pieces of metal with no markings on them. They could be off anything from a motorcycle engine to a bomb dropped from a zeppelin in WW1. I am afraid Adept is correct. There is no way anyone can identify what these came from.

    Sorry

You never know, this is WRF and from some of the things that I've seen identified in the past has really impressed me, even though these are just fragments the 3 bands on them might be able to tell someone what they are, do you have any idea on the history of these peices?

    Thanks

    Danny

Its a free forum, everyone is entitled to their opinion, I know that Steve is far more experienced than me with this sort of thing, so his and Adepts might be a bit more logical compared to mine. Because after all this is just shrapnell but I always try to get answers even if the chance of getting them is close to non existant, maybe Steve and Adpet think differently and I respect their opinions and the way they see things

    Thanks

    Danny

It might be useful, it might not be, but just like everyone on this forum he is allowed to share his opinions even though in your eyes they might be a bit pointless.

    Thanks
