    looks like some kind of no23 copy

    Hi Ed. I could be wrong but it looks to me like a No23 MK3. Take a look at this site:

    No23 Mk1

    What makes you think it is not British?

    Edit: xPanzerx beat me to it.

    I bought it from SOF for £25 so I didn't think it would be British at that price!

    Ah, fair enough. You could try dropping the guy who runs the site I posted the link from an email. He was very helpful in IDing one of mine.
