Italian SRCM grenade

Enjoy an inert Italian SRCM grenade, that is missing the pull tab/safety strip.

It was equiped with a fail-safe mechanism that would render the grenade inoperable in the event of a misfire and an 'always fuze' concept that would cause the grenade to detonate no matter how it hit the intended target...
I recall my late granfather's words as how the Greeks that would get hold of them-live, were deactivating them (pretty dangerous process) to create todacco/cigarette holders.

Nice societa romana...not hard to find here in Slovenia, always when I go to a trip i find at least one.
Bomb is good looking, but the use and effect...not worth to mention.

Didn't know that Italian Army still use the red devil in 1989...I served in the greek Army in 1988-1990 and was trained in the Elviemek type Arges 72 a greek plastic body frag grenade made under licence from Austria...
