    Default Luftwaffe Bomb?

I went to a local Museum at Fort Perch Rock to have a look at the recovered parts of war time planes..

Just inside the Fort, was a big bomb (I love big Luftwaffe Bombs )

    I'm researching what it is?

    500kg or a big fat "Hermann" 1000kg?

It looks like an SC500PC . This was armour-piercing and used against shipping and fortifications . They were painted sky-blue overall ( of course, if the paint has been added post-war my theory goes out of the window ! ).

BTW, a very good reference to identifying German bombs can be found in 'The Blitz Then & Now : Volume 1' pp. 147 - 177 )

I thought it was a bit small to be a "Hermann"..
