    I've got three or four of these with different wings, just love 'em

    Nasty chaps these Butterfly Bombs.

    These bombs couldn't be disarmed, they had to blown up in situ.

    A piece of rope was used to pull/drag them, setting them off.

    You had to leave them for at least 30 mins, in case it had a time delay fuse.

    TOTALLY SAFE & FREE FROM EXPLOSIVES

    Look how the colours blend in with the garden greenery..

    I'm not sure how this one survived?

    Possibly a restoration project.

    Nice complete thing and I believe these go for a fair bit in such good condition. I would say its been repainted. I could be wrong but I think the yellow would have been a bit darker as the intention was that during the summer months these would blend in with a field of corn or whatever to make them even more treacherous.

    It's in a lovely condition, quite heavy too.

    The "Wings" came in different shapes and sizes.

    I think it from North Wales?? if I remember correctly - not sure really.
