HISTORIC MACHINE GUN CARTRIDGES
Hi Jean, yes it was a out dated by then.
Cheers, Ade.
Not every nation adopted spitzer rounds-Italian Carcanos in 6.5mm were all in round nose to the end of WW2-they never had the industrial capacity to replace or modify their stocks of rifles-many nations also had reserve stocks of older weapons that took round noses-again the Italians had ex Austro Hungarian M95 Steyr Mannlichers that were issued to their African native troops still with the original 8 x 50R ammo, while in Austria and Hungary before WW2 these were modified to the pointed 8 x 56R round.
