    It looks like it could be Austrian,show a picture of the whole case and the length of the case in milimeters.

    7.92 x 57 mm Mauser.

    so it is German? thanks for this reply there was no way it could be Austrian cause the place i've found it was only occupied by Germans

    It's a Czechoslovakian made 7.92 x 57 mm shell dated 1938 and used by the Germans for the k98 mauser. The stamp Z corresponds to Zbrojovka Brno, Czechoslovakia.
