Shell with N marking need I.D. please

    Could the 'N' stamped into the cartridge base mean Navy?

    in case you decide to look for the correct cartridge case ive attached an image of one belonging to another friend so you get some idea of what to look for , The headstamp of the cartridge will be something like "76mm ARMD C"

    Just to clear things up for me,was the projectile in the original post,75mm,76mm,85mm ?And if it`s in the wrong case then what is the original N marked case ?

    As i was relaying all info via a friend i was unsure of diameter of shell case,its 76mm and only marked with an N.
