Snap cap?

Article about: I've got this,what appears to be a snap cap of some kind. I believe it goes to a M1 Garand. Any ideas? Ron

    Zwerge beat me to it.

    The case is deliberately made shorter than a regular .30 Governemnt calibre case to avoid accidently loading a full power round. The British did the same with the Pattern 1918 adaptor, giving it a lower shoulder than a normal .303 inch cartridge to avoid accidents. See picture attached.

    Thanks a bunch Zwerge! (and Tony) I went to a gun show a few weeks ago and forgot to bring it with me. But I saw a private gun display with several of the Marble's 'adapter shells. I thought that was what I might have but a .22 wouldn't fit. Thanks again! Ron
