    Default Stick grenade head?

This stick grenade head came in a collection I bought some time ago. Not the normal head as it has what i would call an extended external thread. I have never seen such a head before and think it may be an early repro. But it has age to it and thats throwing me, making me think its worth posting here and asking those who know more than I do about stick grenades. It could just be a 1960's repro, that would give it 55 years of "age" so I hope someone can help.

Looks like a late war formed thread M24 head that has been cleaned and perhaps repainted.
