Two ''K'' M24 Stick Grenades

Hi guys, just sharing my latest purchase.
These 2 were a so called ''attic find'' of Kurland.
Not in the best condition but the price was reflecting that so no probs for me. Marked ''K'' for cold weather and both have their ceramic ''donuts'' and ropes.

Any ideas on how to remove the rust a bit, without removing the paint of the cans?
I believe electrolysis is not an option here
