Unknown French/Belgium Shell Case 1953

Picked this shell up at a second hand shop in Belgium. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what its from?

We think its french or Belgium and very roughly measures 3" across at the top. Made of Steel not Brass.

Hi Vicky,i can't help you with the shells origin i'm afraid,but I would suggest that the combination of beer,tent fabric and heavy artillery is a disaster waiting to happen! Leon.

Hello,

It's a french case for the 100mm navy gun mle 1953. The case was made by ARS (Atelier de construction de Rennes) but can't see the date, and was loaded by BR (Arsenal de Brest) in 1978.

Spoil yerselves! Get a bottle of Champer's to mix with the Cassis, you won't regret it!

Plus, I bet it's fairly reasonable cost wise over there.

Hi

On these cases , the shells were often mounted with original WW2 German Zt Z Fuzes (modified) ,
and stamped LIP .
The german indications remains, with waffenamt eagle & swastika.
