The Dutch designed 'V40' was produced in the 1960's and was used by US Forces
in Vietnam, and by the Canadian Army. It's an example of how far 'state of
the art' technology had come 40+ years ago, and I imagine it is still in
service today. A soldier could carry many more of these than the
standard 'M26' developed at the end of WWII, which had
replaced the 'pineapple' style 'MKII-A1'.
This particular one is a training grenade, painted blue and marked
'NWM-V40' and 'INERT', with a beer cap along side for scale.
- It is about the size of a golf ball.........!
