World War 1 88mm case

Article about: Hi all, My travelling salesman called round to my house with some new shells for me. One of them is a 1914 dated 88. It is made from steel with a brass base. The dimensions match the shells

    But the FLAK 18 started his life in 1918....so why is one of the two cases dated 1917????

    The "18" in FLAK18 was to confuse the allies after the versaille treatment. The design of the WW2 FLAK(18 and 36) was much later. However in 1917, when you see the old pics, the 8cm and 8,8 cm FLAK looked a lot like it. Besides, these guns came from the Navy side. They used it mucho longer.
