    Thanks to you all . It can now go back to being the rather heavy paper weight. Rather than a bomb that fell on King's Lynn. Thanks hangerman for the image.

    The above replies are right : it's part of a British Practice Bomb which came in various sizes.

    Here's one which can be seen at the Mosquito Museum, London Colney - it was made into the 627 Squadron Bombing Trophy.
