    Hi Guys, Basically I have signed up to try and get some help identifying this shell dug up in Bexleyheath. The shell is just over 13" tall (34cm) and the base has a diameter of just under 4"9.5cm), I have attached 2 images, any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

    Hi..looks like 3.7" AA High Explosive projectile to me. I trust no explosive material remains inside....just rust !!

    Hi, thanks for the info, I had a look and it got me looking at 4.5 Howitzer (HE) shells which look a bit more like it and closer to the size and shape, brass band on the bottom is also identical, is that likely for the area? I see other 4.5 guns in the south east.

    Looks like a 3.7 to me. Band is spot on.
