Agreed, this applies to the Infanterie Sturmabzeichen.
For the Panzerkampfabzeichen, Silver = Tank crews. Bronze = Crews of armoured vehicles other than tanks.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

So nothing special about the badges being designated to people operating larger tanks, Tigers, Panters, etc. ( on the Panzerkampfabzeichen)? These are my favorites, don't know if they are worth much, but...

In the later war years assault gun/tank destroyer crews (STuG,Marder,Hetzer etc). Were awarded Silver PKA's rather than the ASA. Stewy
