PAB in Bronze by R.S.

Article about: At last a bronze version of this excellent and desirable award, in my collection. Made of zinc, still retains much of it's finish which in hand looks like chocolate color. Hope you like it.

    Hi donk,

That's a nice Souval PAB in bronze you've got there! The design is a typical Vienna one, this one being a copy of the Weidmann design. The rear set ups varied a lot on Souval pieces, this one is a fairly common one with the 'Broad Type' lettering and wrap around sheet metal hinge. They made a wide pin version which is very unusual for a PAB, and hence is much sort after. The chocolate finish is lovely and I wonder if it was prevalent in these Austrian made awards as it's seen a lot on other Vienna makers badges?

All in all a very nice badge!

    Regards, Ned.

Hi Ned, thanks for the extra info.
I think in my photos the chocolate color is not so obvious. In hand it looks much better.
    Cheers

    Hello there,

    A familiar beauty!
