Is it possible this is original and just worn, I feel like this one is good. Opinions are welcome.

I don't like this one at all. The material of the badge as well as the hardware do not match anything that I have seen.

I think it's trying to be an unmarked JFS, and have the same concerns as the fella's above regarding everything they say. The pin is wrong, it's shape is too fat, especially at the hinge point. There would be some remains of finish left on the reverse that shows bubbling, always seen on JFS badges, but not here.

If you get to look at it again, check the sheared edges of the catch. If it's real there should be striations that follow round the bend in the catch. If there are none, then it's been cast not pressed out, and that's a surefire no-no.

Finally, the finish on the obverse has that falsely aged look to it that you see on many bad examples, almost like it's been dusted with soot. Other details look bad as well, and there is no sign of the ends of the 2 rivets that you would expect to see sign of.

Having said all that, it's one of the better bad 'uns out there imo.

    Regards, Ned.

That's a stunner! And shows perfectly my point about the shape of the pin on the fake one being too fat, this is what it should look like. And the typical bubbling of the finish on the reverse, as on all JFS numbered Panzerkampf Abzeichen's (and GAB's)....You can't fake that.

    Thank's for sharing this badge.

I think it's a nice try, but in the end, it just doesn't match up. The tapered pin is the most glaring red flag and such detailing as the "5" and the barrel of the cannon are just off. Sorry...not good.
