    Hi Meech,

Very interesting indeed. Can you post better, focused close up pics of the eagle (especially the head), the pin closed, the grass and a couple of the catch so as to determine it's type. This badge has, imo, the potential to be an EXTREMELY rare variant of the A.S. in triangle Panzerkampf Abzeichen known as the 'Mutant' type as it appears to have the obverse design of the 3.3.3. type and the heavily scooped out reverse of the 3.3.2. type.

Only 2 others are currently known to exist.

But don't start counting your chickens yet, I may well be wrong, let's see the better quality shots first! Oh, and make sure they're the right way up an' all please.

    Regards, Ned.

I would cautiously agree with Ned.

Some better pics would be very useful. Straight on shots with the camera and badge parallel, not at angle to each other, front, back, makers mark, tank, eagle would be very welcome. And yes, please make sure you post them the right way up.

These are not good enough. In fact they are worse than the first ones. The only one that is in focus is the one showing the catch, which looks good to me. But I'm not going to give an honest opinion on the strength of these pic's, sorry!

EDIT: You've put up better pic's whilst I was posting, these are better! I think on the evidence here that it's a good one, and very rare as well, shame about the pin but hey, who else has got one of these, pin or not!

    Regards, Ned.

It's not the rarity of the maker mate, it's the different front and rear appearance that makes this rare, they are of two different types of Scholze badge in one, that have only been seen twice before. If I'm correct, and I think I am, this is the third example, and therefore uber rare. That's why I love PAB's, the chances of picking up a real scarce example for reasonable money is greater than in any other award category I can think of!
