Again, the pic's are poor, badly lit and wrongly orientated, but It seems to me to be a genuine hollow buntmetall bronze Wurster type 1.2.3 or "Organised Grass" pattern. The hinge and pin have been replaced (possibly in period), and the area around the catch has been drilled to allow stitching the badge to the uniform tunic. This may indicate that the catch was replaced too, but only more detailed images will tell. This is a very common early PAB, and there are plenty of them around without any flaws regarding condition, however, if price is an issue here....

    Regards, Ned.

That's all it will ever be worth at best IMO, it's compromised. Not for me.

The catch is also a replacement. It's up to you, it'll cost around a third more at least to pick up one with no issues.

It is no risk, it is what it is.

You have been given good advice and as Ned says it is compromised.

ie This is damaged goods. If you like it, fine but don't expect to make a profit on it.

We cannot be sure when the repairs where made in which case assume it was yesterday!

I wouldn't pay $200 US for it but then I already have a good one.

BTW Welcome to the forum, you will learn a great deal here!

    Regards

    Mark
