Article about: Hi, I'm a new member in this forum and a "young" collector. Last weekend I've got a Panzerkampfabzeichen, but I don't know exactly, if it's an original. Please give me an advice. t

    Wait for Big Ned to see this - he knows his stuff.
    There is something about the mark on the pin at the hinge that has to be checked ..... I forget.

    A fake badge. Compare to Ralph's silver example here and note the differences on the reverse and also the trimming outline and obverse details.

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Hi Ulli,

    As said it's a repro badge that's known as "The Aurich 1.8.1. Fake" and comes in various guises including the correct Aurich crimp set up and also with a ball hinge and sometimes marked AS in Triangle. The material used is high quality and the badge rather thick yet overall is undersize all around that shows it's a casting.
