    I have been checking out this badge and find the silver coating on the hinge, pin, and catch a little odd. Is the silver coating not being absorbed because of what the medal parts are made of. Second thought is it just a cover up to make badge look legit. Badge also looks flat.

    you are correct the zinc has indeed absorbed the finish & the pin etc being made of different material has retained it , Any chance of a picture of the obverse? regards Paul

    I believe this one is okay John.
    I have an IAB or two with the same situation, the hardware retains almost all of the silver finish, but there is none remaining on the badge in general.
    I will look to see if I can find the thread later.
