My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

A fine and rare animal, for sure! Nice pick up! 75 next? Or are you just going to jump right up and pick up the 100 first?

A very nice example of a grade III maker marked JFS '50' in silver. Going by the lack of any die deterioration that the silver badges became prone to around the area of the eagles talons, I'd say this is a fairly early example and from it's appearance as these go, very possibly a combat worn piece. Your photo's are Great Michael, and do this old war horse credit, so well done on all accounts. I know you were after a nice example, and this one ticks all the boxes one likes to see in an issued badge, I'm delighted for you mate.
Regards, Ned.

Congrats! Very lovely 😊
Very nice indeed,
congrats for this add and the very nice PKA family!!
Ciao,

Nice score Michael! I should really get a numbered PKA. A grade II bronze would do me a treat, 2017's my 50th birthday so something special me thinks. Stewy
Thank you all very much!
Stewy: Try as I might I have never come across a bronze version in person and almost never see them for sale. Was the survival rate of Bronze recipients was much lower? I too would love one.
Ned: Again, thanks for the help. I am needless to say very happy to add this to the collection. I agree that this would be an early version. The reverse however shows a lighter Oval impression around the catch vs my 25.
Been working very hard on my photos thanks to tips from some of the guys here on "F-Stops" and "ISO"!!! And a brand new LED light box helps immensely as well
