Looking closer it seems they maybe the same medal. Is it coming from Texas? If so, I either need to have a talk with the person who swore they wouldn't sell it as a original when I returned it with proof it was fake, or someone bought it from him knowing it was a fake and is trying to make a killing off it. This was my fear when returning several medals to the seller, but considering I paid for originals, didn't find it was fair, either, to put them in the fake box if at all not possible.

Looking at the pattern of the patina on the reverse I would say these two badges are one and the same.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
It's funny how crap is passed around. I'm going to visit the shop I bought this at as soon as I can. I agree, also, that they're the same medal now that I've looked even closer. Note the wear, including the missing finish on the top right corner of the eagles reverse, as well the the chip in between the point which the top of the tank, and the bottom of the swastika meet, is consistent with both examples in the two images.
I will admit the gun stores inventory is larger than the annual gun show here in Houston and employs; this is a estimate, forty individuals. I'm sure there is a high turn over rate, too, so I guess the employee who sold it could've not known it was a fake.

A chemically aged fake IMO, sorry. Stewy
