    if you got it from poland its probably fake.

    In photo #2 you can see what look to me like 'flow marks' from a die casting process. This I think ties in with the general construction method for these awards? Certainly I cannot see any evidence of this being a hand cast piece.

    Looks original to me too.
    However on looking in de Bocks book AS in a triangle maker marked badges had flat wire catches.
    Only the rarer variant without the two spring mounts at the track/ wheel area has the catch with round wire.
    I dont think that alters your badge though, they probably used both.
    Lets see what the others say as well.

    I like it too, no red flags for me.
    John is correct with his observation of the catch but I don't think it should be a cause for concern.

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    I am not sure about this one, I have never seen this variant with round catch.
    I would like to see better pictures from this badge.
    Here is a very dangerous fake with the same catch, the maker mark is different but looks very similar.

    Looks like a nice condition Adolf Scholze to me. I recently picked one up, but not anywhere near as good a condition as yours.
