    Hi McFrog,

A link to the thread on "the other forum" would be most welcome so that all here can see it. After that i'll comment freely, I have an interest in what their comments to it being bad are, and we'll take it from there.

    Regards, Ned.

    O.K. 'Tanks' for the linky.

You've actually only had one opinion given on the badge so far, so maybe best to wait for more answers. I actually know the guy 'Hardaway', he's a really nice chap, and have bought various items from him in the past. But Matthias is not a collector of PAB's, he's more of an IAB collector.

His first line says it all really:

"Hello, I am not a PKA collector nor am familiar with specific features of the PCA variants / manufacturer / type, but I would try to pass as help my opinion...."

The rest is in the link for all to read.

Due to concerns I had, I have since run the badge by both PAB specialist Giel van Wassehove and the author of the PAB bible Philippe De Bock. Both state unequivocally that although heavily filed and probably the worst finished Meybauer PAB they've ever seen, it is an original badge and the only problem with it is the replaced pin.

I hope this helps ease your concerns.

    Regards, Ned.

UPDATE 03/09/2016: It would appear that even the best collectors and authors on the subject can sometimes get caught out. As of July 2016 a couple more of these badges the same as the one above have surfaced....., and they are made of CAST LEAD!

Therefore the badge is fake. Here's the two badges that confirmed my initial fears around what I perceived as casting 'flash' around the hinge. When I raised this anomaly on GCA back in 2014 it was said that there was not a problem and my concerns were unfounded. This is no longer the case.

i ask for any opinions so its interessting to see what the others say and hardaways post was very friendly and he says himself its a "opinion"

In my first thread 4 people say it is fake, i hope they write the "wrong" details in the "Echtheitsbestimmung" the confused me so much

I think the forum here, especially you are very good knowers of these badgeds so the opinion here is most important for me.

You show my badge de book ? What a honor

    now i can sleep better.

again and again thank you for your help i hope it was not the last time
