Wurster 'Small W' Solid Buntmetal Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze.
Hi Guys,
My final acquisition of the year arrived this morning from the Netherlands. I paid top dollar, but they don't often come like this one, it's stonemint.
One of the most desirable Panzerkampf Abzeichen's and the only Panzerkampf Abzeichen badge that was ever made as a solid buntmetal variant, it's the "Type 1 Pattern", the sharpest finished of the Wurster badges.
Not that uncommon in Bronze, unlike the Silver grade, the weight of this badge is 40 grams, and is sometimes also reffered to as the "Massif" or "Monster". These badges are marked with a small "W" to the left of the hinge. This logo is considered an earlier Wurster logo that later on was replaced by the "KMW in circle" logo known from Wurtsters zinc Infanterie Sturmabzeichen and Panzerkampf Abzeichen production.
The photo's are the vendors, as I haven't had chance to get outside for pics due to the fact it's pissing down here. If any close ups are required let me know, and I'll do me best!
Regards, Ned.
