Need Help Identifying Uniforms - late 1940s or 1950s

Article about: Hello, hoping someone can help to identify the uniform, and very distinct markings, in this photo. We don't know the origin but believe it was Eastern Europe, possibly Poland. It was taken a

    The 1st Infantry Division badge was awarded to anyone who served with that unit. Whilst the Grunwald badge was awarded to any Polish soldier who served during the Second World War.
    Having a closer look at the ribbons he is wearing the Soviet ribbons for the Liberation of Warsaw and Capture of Berlin.
    It is hard to say if he was at the Battle of Lenino as the Cross for this battle was created in the 1980's.
    Most probably he was one of the Poles deported to the Soviet Union in 1939 and ended up in the Soviet Controlled Polish Army in 1943.

    In regard to collar tabs, This is a 1952 pattern.
