The Edged Weapon community has enjoyed some of the best seen collectibles that the Third Reich period could offer. After 80 years, the craftmanship can not be compared to what is seen during modern times. The beauty of these fine works of art have already been seen in,,, up close and in phenomenal photographic detail.

This thread along with each other Third Reich Edged Weapon forums...will be reserved only for ...photographic reference of Period In wear photos of daggers and swords. This thread will help the user to identify..the correct wear location and any visible accoutrements for study. These photos can be from a Soldier..all the way up to a High Leader!

Take special note of the Army officer on the right what looks to be wearing a 1st pattern Naval dagger.

Here is an extraordinary "Period In Wear" first pattern Naval dagger....thanks to the WRFs own colleague Mr Dalquen of the SS forum..this photo originally belonged to Heinrich Hoffmann collection.

Take notice of the naval officer on the right..with a first pattern dagger hanging down by his side...but also take notice of the time period..of the SS officer walking a few paces behind with a 1936 style Cap...these photos taken during the 1936 Olympics...shows the first pattern Naval dagger in wear.

The second pattern Naval dagger went into effect 2 years later in 1938..with a new look to the pommel of the national eagle.
