    Default SS - Schutzstaffel

The Edged Weapon community has enjoyed some of the best seen collectibles that the Third Reich period could offer. After 80 years, the craftmanship can not be compared to what is seen during modern times. The beauty of these fine works of art have already been seen in,,, up close and in phenomenal photographic detail.

This thread along with each other Third Reich Edged Weapon forums...will be reserved only for ...photographic reference of Period In wear photos of daggers and swords. This thread will help the user to identify..the correct wear location and any visible accoutrements for study. These photos can be from a Soldier..all the way up to a High Leader! The photo below is from Johnsons pictorial reference.

WOW!!!....Swerge..STUNNING!!...what a rare and great photograph of the SD chief himself wearing a Standard SSem. I am also noticing the belt loo connector which looks like an Army type hanger connector.....connected to the Belt loop "D" ring.. Something else for the uniform collector is the SD diamond on his left sleeve. Great photo!!! thanks for posting. Regards Larry

In this photo with Goring .. Arthur Seyss-Inquart..and with an Unidentified SS officer..take special note to the bottom of the Chained SS scabbard ...
"Not" ...having the lower scabbard fitting. This missing fitting..IMO is not from neglect but a form of style and flair with Higher SS officials. According to strictest SS orders of Uniform wear..the dagger itself is an Honor to have. I feel the owner chose to remove the fitting..for his own personal taste for attire.
