SS-Unterscharfuehrer Paul Hoffmann

Hi,

This is an interesting item, the end of one who served the SS in occupied Poland, in Lublin during the war.
An entry card to the trial of the SS-Unterscharfuehrer Paul Hoffmann, who was accused to be the chief operator of the Majdanek crematoria. The trial was on 14/11/1945 in Lublin and Hoffman was publicly hung on 23/12/1945 before 20,000 onlookers.

I remember several private photos of the hanging being sold on ebay a few years ago...quite graphic. Seem to recall he was wearing an Organisation Todt uniform at the time of hanging.

Sadly, not enough were hanged after the war, politics and ones who escaped.

Hi Neil,

Used to collect KZ documents, still have quite a few nice pieces. Shifted to collecting all items related to the SiPo a few years ago, so that is my main focus at present.

Sorry Neil, was being lazy...should've typed the full name. Basically I collect Kripo & Gestapo Dienstausweis/Dienstmarke and most other items related to the Sicherheitspolizei.
