1938 RDB diary, assistance requested

Hey guys,

I picked up this diary at a car boot sale along with a mint condition NSLB Taschenkalendar for a few peanuts at the weekend.

In the diary, there is not much in the way of writing but on page 3 (photo attached) there is some writing and a highlighted area which has the SS runes.

Can anyone help me and explain? Does this mean the chap was SS?

That space is for noting membership in Party organizations such as the "SA, SS, etc.". In his case, it was the Hitler Youth (= "H.J.")
