Default 1939 Anti-Semetic Coin or Medal Repro?

I came across this item in an auction lot. I figured it to be a reproduction. Translated front says " Greater Germany Fights For Peace Against the Shameful Treaty of Versailles " The back " For What Do Our Enemies Fight " Its 1 1/2" Diam. And feels like a light alloy. It seams to be coated almost like a parkerized finish but brown. Comments ?

Take a close look. Obviously cast when coins and medals were die struck plus the improbable reverse side that goes to show that nothing's new in right wing politics......

    Certainly not one for me.

"Obviously cast when coins and medals were die struck"
Not strictly true for the period Ned, but the few I have seen were always much larger, and usually iron.

    Hi Pete,

Fair enough, but I still think it's a fake. Take a close look at the obverse and reverse, it appears to me that it's two different designs altogether that have been mated together into this frankly weird piece. For a start, the font of the letters is completely at odds with each other on the two sides. I could imagine that perhaps the obverse side is a copy of an original coin/medal but the reverse may well be a modern fantasy design. It would be nice to get a definitive answer on this.

    Regards, Ned.

There is an Israeli coin dealer that thinks they are real http://historama.com/online-history-...39-detail.html although his one is made from zinc.

It's all a bit complicated old pal, Google UKIP and you'll see that in British politics they're a bit like the U.S. equivalent of the Tea Party although with different agendas and all the fun that entails. That's a very loose example to explain things.

Politics never travels well nation to nation and I guessed that this might arise.

    Regards, Ned.

My "token" or coin or whatever weighs 11 grams. Could be zinc as well. Here's a photo of the edge.

Reproduction or Fantasy...either way, it's certainly not war-era genuine...
