Default AfrikaKorps Kalender 1942 - help please.

Hi. I bought this about 25 years ago and just trying to find out more about it. Is it a rare item? And can you make out anything from the writing on the inside cover? It would be great if I could find out the individual that it belonged to. Pages 23 to 130 are missing as is the fold out map from the back cover so not in great condition. Value? Many thanks in advance.

Not rare, to nice to have.

L35780 will be his unit Feldpost number:

Hello again Ade. Does his Feldpost number therefore mean that he was a member of the Luftwaffe as opposed to Army? Can you make out his name? Many thanks.

    Yes, Luftwaffe.

The L prefix to the Feldpost number denotes that.

I cannot make out the name.

If you post more pics of his handwriting on the inside (if there is any) then we may be able to understand his name!
A very nice item to have!

I think his first name might be Heinrich.

Great original item, first I have seen for DAK. I have owned a few Heer (army) and a Waffen SS. They were small calenders made to fit in a tunic pocket that allowed soldiers to make notes in, mark events in the calender, and normally had some color maps of the area. It is rare, but value hard to place with missing pages, $75 to $295 very rough without actually seeing isnide pages still intact.
The Luftwaffe Feldpost number L 35780 of the owner shows the unit Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur (E) 6/IV was stationed in the following areas with dates,
Mar 1941 - Jan 1942 in North Africa (Berca?)
    Jan 1942 - Feb 1942 in Berca
    Feb 1942 - 16 Jun 1942 in Benghasi
    16 Jun 1942 - Jun 1942 in Ain-el-Gazala
    Jun 1942 - Sep 1942 in Fuka
Sep 1942 - Nov 1942 in Bir el Abd
    Nov 1942 in Nofilia
Dec 1942 - 1 Feb 1943 in Castel Benito (Tunisia)

Great. Thank you very much for the information. Fantastic. I assume a Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur is a sort of central HQ Admin unit in charge of lots of smaller sub units?
